Upcycling Company Launches Limited-Edition Face Coverings in Partnership with L2 Brands

As the nation continues to cope with the challenges posed by COVID-19, Reborn Clothing Co. and L2 Brands, home of League apparel and Legacy headwear and home décor, have teamed up to create upcycled cloth face coverings sewn from surplus fabric. These upcycled face coverings, made in the USA by Reborn and sourced from League’s surplus material, come in two colorways: a 100 percent cotton color blocked Freshman Pink and Candyberry and a 50 percent polyester, 37 percent cotton, 13 percent rayon tri-blend, color blocked Blint and Colt Blue.

“I’m incredibly excited to see these masks come to life thanks to the collaboration between L2 Brands and Reborn,” Reborn Founder and CEO Emily Neville said. “We approached this project with great consideration to how we could protect each other and the planet in a unique, colorful way.”

Reborn works with top brands and institutions to transform surplus branded apparel and premium textile waste into enduring new products. Based out of Raleigh, North Carolina, Reborn enables green initiatives and fuels the domestic economy. The face coverings are just the start of a budding partnership between Reborn and L2. The companies will continue to work together to create sustainable products from preexisting materials.

“Working with Reborn on this face cover project has been fun, yet incredibly meaningful,” L2 Brands Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Lisa Norris said. “Along with keeping people safe while shifting back to normalcy, we’re also keeping the health of the planet in mind by keeping surplus materials from going to waste.”

Face coverings are set to become increasingly important as the nation continues to navigate the pandemic by suggesting or even requiring individuals to cover their face while occupying public spaces.

“If you have to wear a mask, why not help out the planet along the way? And if you have to wear one all day in class, we’re happy to provide a solution that’s not only aesthetically pleasing, but comfortable too,” Neville said. “We wear these masks at our headquarters already, and I love seeing the wave of color blocked masks each morning, knowing our team is doing our part to stop the spread of this pandemic.”

“Wearing a face covering that not only looks great but has an impactful story and provides protection and comfort during this challenging time, which we are all seeking now more than ever,” Norris said.
